In every household there are a few item that are pretty much a staple. What ever those items are they will certainly be needed at 1 time or another. A thermometer is certainly one of those 'staples'. You want to make sure that you have it ready when a fever strikes. I am so happy with my new no-contact thermometer I just got! It is so cool that you can now read the temperature of something without even touching it! I'm impressed actually. I wish I could have had this 12 years ago when my daughter was just a tiny baby. You can get your reading in F° or C°. It also stores the last 32 temperature reading. Which I assume would be a great feature for someone who was tracking there temperature. Another great feature is you can use this on other things besides people, such as to see how hot your cup of tea/coffee is or to see what the temperature is in the room. Im pretty sure I have throughly checked the temp of everything in my home. Lol
